Joe Santana

Senior Director of Diversity Siemens USA

Joe has been with Siemens for 12 years where he’s held a number of exciting and challenging roles. For example in one of these roles, he was the New York and New Jersey IT Outsourcing Area Director for Siemens business services company where he successfully managed a 45 million dollar a year business portfolio with a staff of 300 people. Prior to Siemens, Joe ran IT Operations for a number of the top Wall Street brokerage houses and outsourcing organizations.

In a parallel career spanning more than 19 years, Joe has authored published articles and books on a number of topics including customer service, IT management and diversity. His articles have appeared in Tech Republic, The Outsourcing Journal, CIO Update and a host of other business, IT and HR publications.

In 2003 he co‐author a book on how individual contributors in the IT space could decide if a career in IT management was right for them and then take steps to effectively make the transition to IT management.

•Optimizing Human Capital with a Strategic Project Office, 2005 and
•Employee Engagement, published in India 2007

Joe’s also been quoted in several other books including, the worldwide best‐seller “The World is Flat”and has shared his ideas with audiences worldwide through radio interviews and network television guest spots. In his current role at Siemens as the Senior Director of Diversity for Siemens USA, Joe supports Siemens business leaders in the development and implementation of their USA diversity strategies.
